It’s another day, another walking workout, and another historic experience. Whenever I reach the Monument Vittorio Emmanuel, Italy’s first King, my thoughts drift to Mussolini the fascist. He often used the monument as a symbol of the power and historical importance of his regime. Yes, he and his girl friend were hanged. My walking slows considerably as I try to make my way across the dangerous Plaza Venezia. From there I walk to the Coliseum and see so much more in a place that is just Rome, the glorious.
