It is early morning just before sunrise. It had rained the night before. The freshness enables me to race walk at a good clip. As in many relatively small French towns people are still sleeping. I explore uninterrupted. Many cobble stone streets make the footing a bit uncomfortable but the sensations of downtown Lyon make up for it all.
The buildings in the restaurant and shop area seem to be early 20th century. Some are older. The feel of the town is quaint, peaceful and decidedly medieval. I wonder by the train depot as commuters, ever so slowly, begin to fill the parking area. These first signs of daily life send me back to clean up and tackle a long day of work.
