Hello Mario Andretti
I have been fighting to stay off of the main highways. Oh, but it is great. Back roads are exhilarating, they are quiet but they are interesting too. Small towns crop up, lonely roads appear, and on I plod. It was fun but boring in its’ way. Twenty miles away I begin to see the signs for Latrobe. Every sports television watcher of the 80’s and 90’s knew the name. This was the home of NASCAR race drive Mario Andretti. Following the tourist signs I left my route and walked in awe by Mario Andretti’s modest home. For me it was a victory. I had walked three hundred miles to the residence of a child hood icon. I stopped for a few minutes hoping Mario would appear.
